“Since Starting Strength Training, I have Grown Half an Inch”

This is what Gill, who’s in her late sixties, came bounding in saying one morning after she’d been to the Dr for a check up 🙆‍♀️

I must say, it never occurred to me that this might be a product of strength training; 🤔though it does make sense!

When you start full body strengthening, thinking about all those core and stability muscles, upper back and chest muscles, ⏫ it all really helps towards improving posture and standing taller

I remember one of the things that Gill said to me when she first came to see me was that she really didn’t want to end up looking like a little old lady 👵 .

Whenever she caught herself going past a shop window or a mirror, she became aware of her shoulders being more hunched over and wanted to avoid that ‘old lady stoop’!

Gill had never done any kind of structured exercise before and she was really nervous about joining a small group

She took her time to decide whether she was brave enough to take the plunge! 😬

She had lots of encouragement and support from her family and so decided she would give it a month’s trial and see 👀

And 18 months later she’s still here!!

“I was really worried that everyone would be really fit and I would be the only one totally clueless; but it’s really not like that!” 😃

It’s been so good to see Gill’s confidence grow over these months too; she’s even dipped into other groups and found that she’s really not the only one!

“Everyone is so friendly; it’s such a lovely atmosphere” 😍

People often say to me that they feel like they’re standing taller; however now there’s proof!!
