Does 5 mins really make a difference?!
According to research, YES!
IF done regularly, not just a one off now and then!
After 5 mins everyday for 4 weeks, it was shown to make a difference to:
Heart Health
Improved blood sugar levels – especially when done after meals
Reduced risk of cardiovascular disease and cancer
Reduced stress and anxiety
Increased energy
Results were best in those that are new to exercise, particularly those that spend a lot of time sitting down ![]()
It isn’t a replacement for longer workouts; the NHS recommends 150 mins of moderate exercise per week or 75 mins of vigorous exercise.
But it’s a really good start!
And something you can do at home, at work, in between longer workouts.
(And if you find something around like a small child, you can add some intensity!
)
