Keep it simple and keep it realistic.
If you’re starting out, instead of thinking I need to set 30 mins aside to exercise, think smaller.
Everyone has 5 mins in their day to exercise.
5 mins is easier on the mind and feels much more achievable ![]()
This might be going up and down the stairs a few times, going round the block, doing some squats, anything to get your heart rate up.
Stop making things complicated for yourself or just plain unrealistic.
Are you really, honestly going to get up at 6am everyday to run/walk? If you are, 100% do it!! there was a time in my life not that long ago when that was realistic.
I’d get up at 6am, run to the pool, swim and run back twice a week and it fitted brilliantly into our family routine at the time.
That would not work at all for us now on so many levels.
Is walking 10,000 steps everyday realistic when you only do 4,000 right now? Whats going to change in your life where that is going to be a realistic thing to do?
Are you going to cook from scratch every day?
Sometimes when we set our goals too big, it’s harder to reach and we set ourselves up to fail
and then we feel bad and then even less likely to try.
Think easy. Think simple.
What’s one thing you can do that feels challenging, but doable?
