I think most people at some point in their lives have suffered from back or neck pain.
Here are some tips from the lovely Dr. Xand Van Tulleken that I came across as a good reminder at The Parker Clinic
1. KEEP MOVING – sitting in one position for hours and hours can give you pain even if you are sitting in the most expensive, ergonomic chair!
Movement is needed for strength, support and listening to our body. Make sure you stand, stretch and move your body ![]()
2. BUILD STRENGTH, NOT STIFFNESS -good posture comes from strong muscles and our muscles must be able to support our backs ![]()
3. CHANGE YOUR MINDSET – this is obviously easier said than done!! The way we sit, stand and move often reflects how stressed we are feeling and what we’re doing.
A stressed body is often a stiff body and our muscles can certainly reflect our state of mind ![]()
I know that stress is definitely something that sets off my back.
Sometimes we can’t avoid stress.
Now I’m becoming aware of the times when my back may ‘go’ and I’m learning when I need to take it easy before my back tells me to!
What do you find makes you stiff?
Do you suffer with back pain?
