Alison Young shocked us recently by telling us that she was turning 70yrs very soon! ![]()
You would not believe it to look at her or to see how she moves.
I’m often inspired by the people I work with, they’re incredible!
Alison is a retired nursery nurse. She is also a published author and keeps herself very busy with various activities during the week!
She used to belong to a gym but was never comfortable there.
She found it embarrassing when she had to keep asking about the equipment and in the end, her membership became a very expensive weekly swim!
Alison has various health conditions.
– She has rhematoid arthritis with regular flares.
– She’s in her 13th year of bladder cancer where she’s had to have many years of treatment, thankfully not at the moment but has regular checks and hospital appointments.
– She suffers terribly with sinus issues
– And just generally has various aches and pains due to her health.
However, she knew she still had to keep moving and doing what she could.
She turns up each session and gives it her all, even when I can see she’s in discomfort, she does her best.
She always seems to be in such good spirits and it’s a joy to have her in the sessions.
She’s been pleasantly surprised at how the exercise has actually helped manage her pain and she no longer has the shoulder and arm pains and pins and needles she used to.
She’s lifting weights she never thought possible;
She has much more energy;
She’s feeling the healthiest she has for a long time!
Keep it up Alison!!
