Spring is officially here!! And it’s brought sunshine!
I always feel happier when i see the sun.
Even if I can’t get out in it, it lifts the spirit and mood just looking out the window.
And It does wonders for the brain.
Even just sitting next to the window will have an impact.
The light helps with better mood as it:
Increases the production of serotonin – the happy hormone!
Decreases the production of melatonin – the sleepy hormone
Increases Vitamin D production which has a positive affect on health and therefore on mood
Exposure to natural light in the morning helps set your circadian rhythm and helps sleep quality which ultimately boosts mood!
If you can get out in it first thing (sometimes i just stand on the doorstep for a few minutes!) or move your desk next to the sun, it can really help.
