“I really didn’t think I’d like this type of exercise; I just knew I had to do it – I’m really surprised that I’m still here and NOT hating it!”

This was from a conversation I had earlier this week with a client. And it’s not the first time I’ve heard it!

Research has shown that you get better results when exercising with others.

  • They push themselves harder
  • They’re more likely to enjoy it
  • They report higher stress reduction
  • Greater long term adherence

How easy is it to think of an excuse not to go to the gym/exercise class etc when it’s just you⁉

There’s always others things that need to be done.

You don’t mind letting yourself down, but wouldn’t want to let others down.

This is completely normal❗

According to research group exercise was found to be habit-forming over time with the group approach helping people to keep going!

I’ve definitely seen this myself.

“One of the most challenging aspects of exercise for many … is adherence over the long-term,” says Benson in a 2017 study.

Have you been going it alone and find it difficult to maintain consistency❓

Do you struggle to get any joy from exercise❓
