“How you feel about yourself determines your ability to control your behaviour.”

I think this is Dr Lyon by I actually can’t be sure! I scribbled it down after reading/listening to it somewhere !

What are the excuses or even good reasons that you find yourself saying or thinking that is preventing you from taking action?

Overwhelm is a common one.

“I’m so far off the mark; there’s so much work to do I just can’t face it”

Recognising the story you tell yourself and then challenging it is huge. And something you have to do repeatedly.

“I’m so out of shape.”

“It’s so much easier for others.”

“I’ve always struggled with my weight and always will”

Response: “I’m going to focus on what I can do. What IS in my control and not compare myself to others”

It takes practice to train your mind. It will play you what it always has done.

I know I’m getting a bit deep and philosophical here, I just want to encourage you that when you’re thinking about taking positive steps in your life towards better health, it starts in the mind 🧘‍♂️ and with positive self talk – you can do this!

Making one change at a time and sticking to it, can snowball into taking more positive steps 👣

Often when we think there’s so much to change, or that one thing we want to achieve seems so out of reach, that we feel too overwhelmed and don’t bother trying at all ⛰

Or we’ve tried in the past and failed and so don’t want to try again.

Does this sound familiar?!
