So we started to unpack that a little.
She got out her log book where we record the workout.
‘Oh yeah’ she said, ‘looks like i’ve increased the weights I’ve been using each week…hmm’
“And yes, I can now do a plank and a wall sit for 60 seconds’.
“Well, that sounds pretty good’ I said.
‘Yes but i’ve not lost any weight at all!’ she replied. ‘Although’ she added, ‘I have lost 2 inches round my waist’.
Right, I said, OK. So let me get this straight.
You started 6 weeks ago.
You’ve not made any significant change to your diet.
You’re lifting heavier weights every week.
You’re holding planks and wall sits longer than when you first started.
You’ve lost inches round your waist.
So what exactly isn’t going to plan?!
Sometimes we need to acknowledge the wins.
Even if they look a bit different to what you were expecting.
(and more often than not – get rid of the scales!!)
