Could you be at risk of osteoporosis without even knowing it?

It’s Osteoporosis Awareness Day!

And it’s a great reminder to think about the health of our bones – whatever our age.

The Royal Osteoporosis Society has a quick online check to help you understand your risk. You can take it here:

I was surprised to discover that my results suggested I was at risk and should take action!

Thankfully, I already do many of the things that help protect my bones, but it was still a bit of a wake-up call.

I’m in my early 40s (just!), and one thing I know I need to work on is my calcium intake.

I don’t eat much dairy, and when I track my food, calcium is something that regularly comes up short. So I do try to make more effort to include calcium-rich foods from other sources.

💪 The good news? There’s plenty we can do to support our bone health.

That includes eating enough calcium, getting adequate vitamin D and doing regular weight-bearing exercise and strength training.

And if you’ve already been diagnosed with osteoporosis or osteopenia, as many of our clients have, it’s absolutely not too late to take positive steps to support your bones.

You’re never too old to work on getting stronger and strengthening your bones – even if you do have a diagnosis of Osteoporosis 🤜💪
