Swimming and Yoga isn’t enough

Swimming, cycling, pilates, yoga etc are good forms of exercise to help with mobility, cardiovascular health, mental health etc.

However they don’t provide the impact that you need to help strengthen bones 🦴

I do all those things by the way (apart from yoga) and I will keep doing those things because I enjoy them and I’m not saying stop.

But you need something more to help protect those bones and build muscle.

Thankfully there are things that you can do to help keep your bones strong:

πŸ’ͺ Weight bearing exercise πŸšΆπŸƒβ€β™€οΈ– this includes walking and any exercise where you are bearing your own body weight (unless you are underweight)

πŸ’ͺ Whole body strengthening exercises to help muscles and bones get strong πŸ‹οΈβ€β™€οΈ

πŸ’ͺ Exercises to improve balance, coordination and posture (to limit the risk of falling)🀸

πŸ’ͺ Taking Vitamin D β˜€οΈ

πŸ’ͺ Eating foods with plenty of calcium such as dairy products; green leafy vegetables; nuts and seeds and fish πŸ₯¦πŸ₯œπŸ₯›πŸŸ

If you’d like more information on what kind of exercise is good for your bones or not quite sure where to start, I’d be happy to chat! πŸ’¬
