How Lisa went from
avoiding getting down and up from the floor ;
nervous about walking any distance due to pain ;
constantly yo-yo exercising
To:
doing daily planks at home
confidently walking long distances
going to the gym on her OWN when she was on holiday!
Lisa suffers from osteoarthritis in her knees as well as Plantar fasciitis flare ups .
This really affected her motivation to exercise and to know what exercise she should be doing .
She would get lost in a bigger class as there were so many things she couldn’t do .
She was always trying different exercise classes but would never last more than a month.
Her pain was getting worse which led to less movement; less confidence and more pain and frustration.
She was otherwise an active Grandmother who had grandchildren’s responsibilities that she very much wanted to continue!
She knew she HAD to do SOMETHING before she lost more mobility. She knew it was only downhill from here!
I talked to her about how joining our programme has transformed her attitude to exercise and to herself.
She has much less knee pain now .
She can get down and up again from the floor and no longer fears it .
She knows now what she’s capable of and what she needs to practice at home.
She’s now confident in her small group and challenges herself .
She walks 30 mins to her session (and that’s 30 min back too!) knowing that she doesn’t have to worry about pain .
She’s so much happier!
She revealed recently that at first she used to dread the session .
She’d have to force herself out the door. Now she actively looks forward to her small group session and always the first here!
